Michael and his gang did an outstanding job for me. Anyone who lives on the Hollybrae estate in Kirkcaldy will know about the lawns and how they are always sodden or flooded.
After reading the reviews and researching the Company, we decided to get 3 quotes. It was originally to get a chalice circle laid and Safeguard were the only ones to show. On chatting to Mike, he knew his stuff so decided to get the old lawn lifted and a new one laid. His quote was very much acceptable to me so gave him the go-ahead.
On watching the team of 5 for the first couple of days, it was obvious they knew what they were doing. Old turf lifted and dumped, topsoil scraped back to remove the rubble that the housebuilder dumped, and loads of sharp sand added to some new topsoil for better drainage.
A soak-away dug in the centre and 3 French drains running to the side for the excess water to drain away.
The circle laid and new turf laid. All to a very high standard.
I have no hesitation in recommending Safeguard and Mike Kane and 100% will use them for other work.

I’ve used this company twice now, which I think says a lot already.
Good, reliable and friendly tradesman are hard to come by, so when you finally get a company that has a group of lads that are all of these things, you never want to use anyone else.
I had a slabbed patio laid in my back garden which was done perfectly. I then got them back to slab the side access to my property too. Both times have been efficient and completed to a great standard. The clean up done after every day is fantastic and they ensure you’re completely happy with their work before they leave.
If you’re looking to get any works done, then please have these lads at the top of your list to contact, you won’t be disappointed.

When I decided to replace concrete window sills I contacted Michael who came within 2 days to house. We agreed on the work that was to be carried out. The price he quoted was both competitive and reasonable and I had no hesitation in giving the go ahead. Of course I was influenced by the positive reviews that were posted.
When the work was carried out there was an error in sizing and when I informed Michael he immediately said he was sending his guys back to fix the problem and true to his word the job was completed to my full satisfaction the same week.
I can happily recommend Michael and his company. The standard of the work and the desire to satisfy the client impressed me.

During the recent storm Arwen, fence and gate blew down. I contacted Michael and within a few days he had a team at my house removing the remnants of the old fence and constructing a new fence and gate. The Team on site were excellent, kept me appraised of progress, and tidied up after themselves. The quality of the work done was excellent, and I would have no hesitation in using safeguard trades again.

Safeguard Trades were asked to lay a raised patio and build a retaining wall in our garden. Michael came and gave us a fair quote, fully explaining what the work entailed and giving advice. We then received an in depth email with our contract which we agreed upon. He then kept us fully informed about start date. The team arrived and worked so hard to get the work done in the agreed timeframe. The work was of a high standard and they did some additional work too. They were a happy team of nice lads who were polite and fun. The communication was great which we have found lacking with other companies we have used in the past. We were delighted with the work and would not hesitate to recommend Michael and his team (Safeguard Trades) to anyone needing building work done.

Michael and his team have been brilliant. We used them to provide a full landscaping service on our large back garden and to replace a fence.
They provided a thorough quote and timeline, then carried out the work to a high standard providing excellent communication through out. Any delay due to inclement weather was clearly communicated and he was happy to listen to what we wanted and made suggestions where he thought they would benefit.
When he initially visited us prior to quoting he gave us confidence that they would do a good job and that confidence was well placed. They always went the extra mile and we are really delighted with the end product.
Glad we used them and wouldn’t go anywhere else now.
