Plaster Restorations sympathetically reproduce original plasterwork, either by hand crafted manufacture or working purely in situ. We use only the finest of materials including sand, putty limes and horsehairs, working with oak riven laths. We recently completed Sizergh Castle in Cumbria, for the National Trust and English Heritage, using these materials. Also completed works to a mansion house after fire damage. All mouldings and cornices had to be clay modelled from scratch, due to the incineration of the enrichments. We also developed a unique and cost effective system for re securing loose ornamental ceilings back to their original fixings, which retains the original plasterwork while maintaining the historic integrity of the building. Plaster Restorations can provide surveys and budgets and welcomes the opportunity of visiting your offices or projects to discuss our system in more detail.
