From the first phone call with Peter who was able to understand my garbled ideas and turn them into a sensible project, through the works itself and to Jill’s great communication and organisation we couldn’t be happier.
Peter was great at listening to what ideas we had and asking the right questions to understand the thinking behind them to be able to make superior suggestions that in the end actually saved us many thousands of pounds. He explained the concept, process and benefits brilliantly and we were confident from day 1.
Jill kept us informed throughout and we never had to chase for anything, she was always a pleasure to work with.
Once the job started Andy & Ben were exceptional. They are clearly very skilled at their respective trades and work together seamlessly and always with the upmost awareness of our needs and the impact on us and the neighbours. The craftsmanship was clear to see each day as the roof developed.
What was staggering was the effort and time they spent working which meant we went from conservatory to brand new roof inside 4 days as Peter promised. This was really impressive as we had a 20 square metre glass roof to remove which was incredibly heavy but they got it down and away in half a day and all in one piece. This meant any disruption was to an absolute bare minimum. The care they took in clearing and cleaning each day and especially at the end of the week was testament to their professionalism and pride. We almost miss having them around!
In week 2 we had 1 day with plasterers in and 1 with the electricians who were in and out as promised and again delivered superb quality of work. All in all it took 7 working days to complete which is breathtaking really.
The finish externally looks perfect and neighbours all thought it was roofed in the local Swithland slate, that’s how effective the tiles are. The internal finish is exceptional and has transformed the room. Our conservatory is open plan in to the kitchen and is used all year round but now feels like a natural extension of the kitchen. From a heating perspective even during the coldest week of the year since it was complete I have turned the heating thermostat down by 1.5 degrees which is a considerable reduction.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oakdene to anyone looking at a conservatory roof replacement solution. We had explored other options which were going to be either far inferior concept wise ( fixed over the existing roof) or twice as expensive ( building a new roof/ room). This is the perfect solution and we know we have complied with all building regs and have the security of the warranty should it ever be needed.

We were talked through the issues and options and provided with comprehensive product details.
The team were an outstanding bunch of guys. We liked them all immensely, and they were careful around the home and we felt very confident that they would carry out the job with the same professionalism and competence that Peter had shown prior to the works.
The finished job is outstanding and a real asset and feature of our home, we have had nothing but a good experience throughout and we cannot recommend this company enough, they operate to a high standard that I thought you could no longer get anymore.
